The success of Hana Ranch is critically dependent on executing a suite of integrated facilities projects and infrastructure to support the ranch’s burgeoning farm, livestock, and retail operations. Example projects include building farmworker housing, owners’ homes, barns and outbuildings, facilities for value-add food processing, and renovating existing facilities, among others. Bio-Logical Capital is seeking a Built Environment Manager to join its growing Hana-based team and execute these real estate projects. The Manager will be responsible for simultaneously managing multiple projects from concept to completion, and closely coordinating planning, design and construction with the ranch departments that will use and occupy the facilities. The Built Environment Manager, working closely with the Ranch Manager and Bio-Logical Capital’s executive management team, will lead all aspects of facilities project development at Hana Ranch.
-Create and manage multi-phase schedule and budget plan in order to set and manage internal project goals, timelines, and resource allocations
-Coordinate with ranch department heads whose own business plans are dependent upon appropriate facility design and on-time completion
-Manage relationships and lead contract negotiations with exiting and new architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors
-Lead project permitting and entitlement processes with County of Maui, the local Hāna community, and the State of Hawaii
-Coordinate project planning from schematic design through to construction drawing
-Visit project sites daily to observe progress and quality of work, monitor contractor compliance with contract documents, and to act as owner’s rep
-Prepare reports, financial summaries, and other information for updating executive management and investors
-Other tasks as necessary to support facilities development or other operations at Hana Ranch
-Minimum 10-year track record in construction project management, real estate development, and/or architecture
-Demonstrated experience managing complex facilities and/or infrastructure projects from concept to completion on-time and on-budget
-Preferred experience incorporating green building techniques and design including, renewable energy and water catchment solutions, into past projects
-Must demonstrate skills in leadership, communications, and interpersonal relationships, as well as strong project management techniques, identifying problems, and recommending solutions
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Readiness to relocate immediately to Hana, Maui
-Ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic work environment
-Minimum of 2 professional references
